In the 2022-2026 strategic plan of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, the strategic plan content has been created with the themes of “Entrepreneurial Training Innovative University”, “University Focusing on Local and Regional”, “University Increasing Its Quality”, “University Embracing Social Contribution”. In line with this determined mission, there are five main focuses. These are; practice-oriented education, digital transformation, research and development focused on local and regional development, and social contribution.

Within the scope of social contribution, the activities carried out aim to address every aspect of social contribution activities, to create goals and objectives, to monitor and prioritize them in the 2023-2027 strategic plan.

Social Contribution Policy

P1- In parallel with the mission and vision framework specified in the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, to contribute to our country with management, education, research-development, social, cultural, artistic, environmental, health, sports, and community service projects carried out at our university and to increase the recognition of our university in international fields, to incorporate the mission of social contribution into the academic activities carried out at our university,

 

P2- Within the framework of the mission of “providing solutions to regional and national problems with scientific research and development activities” specified in our university's 2022-2026 Strategic Plan; as a pilot university in the field of “Animal Husbandry” within the scope of the “Regional Development Focused Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program” conducted under the coordination of the Higher Education Council; to produce new knowledge, products, and services aimed at solving the animal husbandry-related problems of the region identified as a priority by mobilizing local and regional dynamics, and to transfer the produced products and services to society to promote social development locally,

 

P3- Within the framework of the mission of “training individuals equipped with the competencies required by the age, who have acquired a profession through applied education, and have high entrepreneurial and social skills” specified in our university's 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, as a university that adopts the “University Touching the City” policy and the philosophy of “Lifelong Learning”; to organize trainings aimed at the personal development of the university's internal and external stakeholders and the needs of society with its various educational centers, coordinatorships, and other relevant units with different features and competencies, as well as to increase social welfare by ensuring social inclusion through social responsibility projects targeting disadvantaged groups, primarily children, women, disabled, elderly, and other groups with different characteristics that make up society, by bringing them together with the university's facilities, competencies, and knowledge,

 

P4- As an entrepreneurial university focused on social contribution and regional development, to contribute to the region in the fields of tourism and sports,

 

P5- Within the framework of the mission of “producing projects aimed at the development of the region through stakeholder collaborations” specified in our university's 2022-2026 Strategic Plan; to develop mechanisms for the use of all kinds of research outputs produced in its faculties, institutes, vocational schools, application and research centers, Technology Transfer Office, Technopark, and similar units (primarily in health, social, economic, cultural, etc. fields) in a way that benefits both society and the interests of the university by encouraging university-industry, university-public, university-private sector cooperation and interaction,

 

P6- Within the framework of the vision specified in our university's 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, to encourage the projection of research, theses, and other studies conducted by academics with the motivation of social contribution, and to support academics who achieve success with academic studies and projects prepared with this motivation,

 

P7- To realize the activities and services stated above; to encourage all internal stakeholders of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, who have high knowledge accumulation, education, and experience, and are leading in their fields, to produce social contribution, and to monitor the necessary processes to reveal and increase the existing potential, adopting its policies.
